Key Boat 2300 is still under the radar to a lot of listeners. He first started back in 2018 with very satire songs, but as we speed up to 2020, he’s definitely picked up the pace to being an actual artist. “Stay True To Me” is a 6 track EP, that was created in his dorm room.
The intro track “Picture Framing” takes in a moderately paced flow, as he is as straight forward as can be. As, he continues to discuss why people tend to diss him over the smaller things, but it won’t change his creative vision, as he raps “You can never change us, wanna picture frame us, Dangerous you the one who praised us.”The Next track “Galore(4:21 Sessions)” is a fan-favorite as Boat comes out with “Girl we aint F***ing for nothing” which quite frankly means “We won’t do anything, if it doesn’t mean anything for the two of us. As the song continues, he brings up his family not calling him for awhile, since he’s been away at college. “For the Streets” discusses a relationship, he tried to keep while heading off to college, that ended up not lasting.
“Heartless Thots” another song that people tend to relates to, talks about how he was being used, The love being one-sided while he got 90% and they gave a mere 10%, only when Boat has money. The next song “Toxic Love” discusses how he always falls out with this particular person, but ends up going right back since that’s what he’s used to. The finale of the EP is “Heart of Gold” which is a light hearted track, telling us how he falls in love so easily, but one girl caught his eye. This short-lived relationship, ended with her moving on quickly, without him even noticing. At this point he’s done with relationships, and ready to just focus on creating art; That was his breaking point, which ended up bringing “Stay True To Me” to life.
